Ever since I laid my eyes on the Dietrich OT-4 I had to have it, and with my first paycheck I bought it and my Omega Seamaster. My love for the OT-4 was far greater than my love for the Seamaster. Not putting down the Seamaster and its heritage at all, or its significance in watch history and pop culture, but the OT-4 was something different, its uniqueness was undeniable.

Dietrich was established in 2010, by Emmanuel Dietrich, with its first timepiece the Dietrich “Snow” being displayed at GTE and Basel world in 2012. With its introduction to the watch making industry with this model the “Organic Time” hit the market in 2014. The OT remained on the market for 4 years. The success of the OT led to the development of the “Time Companion” and which was released in 2017 and is still on the market. As a microbrand that took a new path when it came to their time pieces in 2021, they decided to release their first diver watch, the “Skin Diver”

Let’s talk about the Organic Time, came in 6 different colors. The one I chose the OT-4 in my opinion is probably the best booking out of the lot. All of the pieces in this line came with a Miyota 82-S-7 modified automatic movement, with a small second’s hand between the 4 and 5 o’clock markers, and a 24 hours dial at the 10 o’clock marker. The hands are in this metallic blue color, with both the sub dials in the same color. The dial itself is made up of different layers. The first layer is a brushed steel with a circular opening in the middle revealing the movement of the watch, onto of this steel are small hour markers. The second layer is another brushed metal but in contrasting black steel, forming a soft hexagon around the inner hour markers. The third layer is made of something that resembles an X or veins that line up with the screws on the bezel. The final layer contains the Dietrich name at the 12 o’clock marker and the model OT-4 at the 6 o’clock marker. The bezel of the watch is made of forged carbon fiber with a case size of 46mm. Yes, 46mm makes it sound like its going to be too much watch for my wrist, but it honestly fits perfectly well due to these “U” shaped holes on the bottom of the case that make it easy to slide the watch strap on and off if you want to change it, but also are curved perfectly to my wrist.

The Time companion is another story, a sporty steel watch is something everyone needs in their watch collection. Paying homage to Gerald Genta, the watch an integrated bracelet. The bracelet consists of hexagon links. The beauty of the bracelet and its uniqueness is something that will always be desirable. Sitting at 42mm with two dial color, black and blue. I am the proud owner of the blue dial TC-1. The watch has an ETA 2824-2 movement. Considering the design of the watch it pays complete homage Gerald Genta, the exposed screws on the bezel and reminiscent of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, the integrated hexagon link bracelet are impeccable. I am in love with this watch and will never get rid of it, the bracelet is an eye catcher.
Next watch I will get for my collection is the Skin Diver. Just like the Time Companion, it comes in blue and black dials, and a hexagon link bracelet, but that’s where their similarities stop. The SD-1 comes with a Sellita SW200 movement, with a 38 power reserve. While both the SD-1 and the TC-1 have the hexagon link bracelet, the SD-1’s bracelet isn’t integrated into the case. The watch comes with a sapphire bezel and considering the color of the dial you choose the bezel will match it. The beauty of the SD-1 is that its 38.5mm case size, meaning it will fit my wrist comfortable, let alone the fact it comes in either the steel hexagon bracelet or a silicone strap. As a diver watch it can with stand being underwater up to 150 meters. I am going for the black dial color, instead of the blue due to me owning the Omega Seamaster in blue, and the Dietrich TC-1 in blue too. Can’t wait until. I have it on my wrist.
I am truly in love with Dietrich and their designs. Getting introduced to them when the brand was quite new and growing my collection with them has been an awesome journey. Keep in mind this isn’t a sponsored post, or paid, I am just a fan of their work.
