The summer is finally here and having a fun light weight watch. To many in the industry, that means it’s time to release colorful watches, the Omega x Swatch was released in bright colors because of this reason, I’m assuming. You’ve got Tag Heuer coming out with new colors for their Formula 1 line.
With the desert heat coming now and reaching well over 50°C (120°F) the lovely people at Timekeeper teamed up with DVO Italia and gave as something many people will enjoy. Now what’s a watch that many consider a holy grail piece and it’s hard to get, a watch with so much mystery about how it was created? That watch would be the Cartier Crash. This beautiful watch has been given the summer touch, but also by making it more attainable for many.
The case size is 42mm x 22mm and is made from a hybrid ceramic case and a silicone strap, coming in six beautiful colors.
- Solara/Fire – Orangish Red case and strap with a white dial
- Terra/Earth – Dark Green case, strap and dial
- Rivera/Water – Vibrant Blue case and strap with a white dial
- Nova/Time – Grey case, strap and dial
- Nebula/Spirit – Pink case and strap with a white dial
- Lunara/Air – White case, strap and dial
The dial is not like the typical Cartier dial, the numerals are in Arabic, with the numerals at the top and the bottom of the dial larger than the rest as if the whole case with the dial melted, I mean they would melt considering the heat here in the Gulf. Protecting the melting dial is a plexiglass crystal. The crown of the watch is a bit unique with a cone design I haven’t seen on many watches.

With the watch being a released in the summer and it being a summer watch, it has the 30-meter water resistance making it the perfect pool watch too. Powering the watch is the Epson Quartz movement, which is manufactured by Seiko. The strap is something different as well, not that it’s silicone but it’s the way the strap is closed. It’s buckleless, instead it has a three columned dotted band on one side and another that has holes that line up with the dotted side. So, you just line them up and push them together and it’ll securely strap. It may seem weird, but it actually fits the wrist securely.

I got the chance to try on the watch and I quite like it. The Nova colorway is a beautiful watch, and I have thing for grey watches, and blue watches which is why the Rivera caught my eye as well. The Nebula is always very nice watch, with this baby pink case and dial it works with a white T-shirt or a white dishdasha, or any summer outfit. Considering Nomos and Tag Heuer and Rolex have pink watches, why not get?

Keep in mind that these watches are 200 pieces per color, and you can find them at Timekeeper’s store, both online and at their two locations in Kuwait (The Avenues and Salhiya). They wont set you back much 75KWD around $240.
