RCAPH, Homage Done Right

The number of Homage watch companies on the market is too many to count, and what usually is terrible about that sector of that market is the quality of watches that are put out. Considering all the times you’ve seen a homage watch, the watch seems flimsy poorly built, quartz movement, usually an almost carbon copy of the watch it pays homage to and always seemed like an easy cash grab for these companies.

When it comes to RCAPH, it wasn’t created to make a Homage watch brand. Ahmed Thabet a Saudi Engineer, and avid watch enthusiast, was tired of watch companies making some of their watches that he liked in sizes that were too big for his wrist. So, he took it on himself to start something that would fix that sector of the market, but not only that but to start a watch brand that represents himself and Saudi Arabia shooting to be one of the top watch companies in the GCC.

As of right now there are three models that RCAPH have. An Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, in two beautiful colors, silver, and baby blue. Powering the RC Royal (Royal Oak Homage) is the Seiko NH35 Automatic movement that makes the watch’s thickness slim but also maintaining a respectable 41-hours power reserve. The RC Royal has its date window at the 3 o’clock. There also is the RC Royal Series CH X Tokei Ronin, which pays homage to another Audemars Piguet, the Royal Oak Chronograph, which is already sold out. With a very lite lilac purple dial also called Edo Purple, contrasted by the black sub-dials. Powering this 25-piece limited edition watch is the Peacock SL4801 Automatic movement. Both of these AP homage watches are 38mm with a 48mm lug to lug. Both watches have Arabic numerals, with the RC Royal, the indices are numbered in Arabic numerals, which the RC Royal CH has the indices in Arabic numerals, but the sub-dials have the Arabic numerals.

The second model available is the RC Luxon, which pays homage to the Patek Phillipe Nautilus. The Luxon has 4 colorways, 3 are currently available. The Saudi Arabia edition which comes in the same shade of green as the Saudi Flag which is limited to 25 pieces, the other two colors are black and white. All three have the same Arabic numerals as the indices. The fourth, is another Tokei Ronin edition, that has an aged tropical dial with stick indices. The RC Luxon is powered by the Miyota 9015 Automatic Movement with a 42-hour power reserve. The watch is just like the RC Royal, is 38mm. And just like the RC Royal the date window is at the 3 o’clock.

The third available watch that RCAPH have is the RC Racer, which pay homage to the Tudor Chronograph’s recent releases. To be precise, the Tudor x Inter Miami pink and the Tudor Flamingo Blue model. Unlike the models it pays homage to the RC Racer is different from the Tudor Chronograph. Including the shade of dial colors where the RC Racer is a bit more prominent compared to the Tudor. The indices, like the RC Luxon,

are in Arabic Numerals. The bezel of the RC Racer is ceramic unlike the watch it’s paying homage to. Most importantly the watch is smaller than the Tudor Chronograph, it’s a 39mm watch compared to the 41mm of the Tudor. The watch is powered by the PeacockSL4622 Automatic Movement, with 45-hours power reserve, that was specifically designed and engineered for RCAPH.

Of these three models, I can say without a doubt the RC Royal with the grey dial and the RC Racer with the pink dial are my favorites. My friend Salem (Tokei Ronin) lent me his RC Royal CH to look at and all I can say is the watch is unbelievable. The quality of the watch is something unimaginable, I had to compare it with a lot of the watches in my collection, and the build quality was up there with my Tudor Black Bay 58. What really shocked me was the chronograph pushers. I used to own the Tudor Chronograph, and currently have the Breitling Premier B01, but the engaging these pushers felt like they were oiled by the fluffiest butter you can ever purchase. Ahmed Thabet, the founder of RCAPH focused on something truly admirable, that all the watches are powered by automatic movements, not by a quartz movement. The quality of the case, and the bracelets are truly up there with the best international watch brands, and that alone is saying something for a start-up company let alone a homage watch company.

RCAPH RC Royal CH x Tokei Ronin

As reported to me, by Q2 of 2026, RCAPH will be releasing a watch of their own design, not a watch that’s paying homage to. For that I can’t wait to see, because judging by the quality of these watches and the person behind it, I know it’ll be something that will be incredible.
